Business and Commercial Mediation Pilot Scheme Launched

Following the launch, on September 1,  of a Business and Commercial Mediation Pilot Scheme by Chambers Ireland in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Law Society, the Bar Council of Ireland and the Mediator’s Institute of Ireland) and supported by the Courts Service of Ireland, Shannon Chamber is encouraging its member companies to consider mediation as an alternative and cost-effective way of resolving business disputes.

Commenting after the launch, Shannon Chamber CEO, Helen Downes said: “This  is a new service which we can now provide to our members, via Chambers Ireland. Going to court can be daunting, expensive and time-consuming, Mediation, on the other hand, is timely, efficient and a fraction of the cost of going to court. It is ideally suited for resolving boardroom disputes, contractual disputes, debt resolution, defamation, negligence, partnership and shareholder disputes, and helps keep business relationships intact.

“We would encourage member companies,  interested in having a dispute resolved through mediation, to apply to have their case referred to the pilot scheme’s panel of mediators. Scheme details are outlined in the pdf below and also available at http://www.chambers.ie/services/mediation-pilot-scheme.html
