In its twentieth year in business, Shannon Chamber has a full timesheet for its annual golf classic, which takes place on Thursday, 18 June at Shannon Golf Club. Sponsored by Genworth Financial and supported by local companies: Ei Electronics, the Park Inn by Radisson Shannon Airport, Idex Pump Technologies Ireland Ltd., UCB Manufacturing, Shannon Airport, Cahercalla Motors and Three, the golf classic is always a very popular event with chamber member companies. 164 golfers, representing 41 companies, will tee off on the day and compete for the commemorative awards which have been specially commissioned for this year’s 20th anniversary event.
Speaking ahead of the event, Shannon Chamber’s chief executive Helen Downes said: “We are always amazed at the level of support we get every year for our golf classic; it’s our biggest social event of the year. However, this year has surpassed all expectations with tee slots fully booked by early April. Companies see it as an opportunity to entertain corporate clients and discuss business away from the desk.
“While we have over forty companies represented as players on the golf course, many others are supporting the event through tee sponsorship, which adds a lot of colour to the fairways. We are still taking bookings from tee sponsors and would encourage any company that wants to be associated with the classic in this way to contact us.
“As usual, the array of prizes is amazing: Flights, four-balls at prestigious golf courses, golf lessons, meals at some of our best local restaurants, jewellery by a local designer, and a range of very valuable prizes. While this is first and foremost a fun day out, when 164 golfers take to the fairways and are playing for great prizes, the minds switch to concentration mode on the back nine!,” added Ms Downes.
While booking is now closed for players in the Shannon Chamber golf classic, tee sponsorship can still be booked by contacting the Chamber at 061 708341 or email: email@example.com
