Description

The data protection legal landscape is evolving rapidly. It presents many challenges for businesses, government and public authorities, in particular for consumer-facing online businesses, those in the financial services sector or those in possession of sensitive personal data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force in the EU in May 2018. This new regulation imposes stricter requirements on all business activities involving data. Whether you are a data controller or a data processor, the GDPR will have a significant impact on your business, and the clock is ticking. Businesses with employees in the EU, or who provide goods or services within the EU will be impacted by the new GDPR requirements and obligations, including on responding to data subject access requests, maintaining records, and notifying the Regulator of data breaches.
